Checking in from northern NM

Just a quick post to let y'all know I'm happily camped in northern NM, enjoying a lake view, cool breezes and good company. All is well and I'm loving Bliss even more now. Traveling up here without towing the car was a dream and I got much better gas mileage than I had expected. One leg of the trip was 13.9 mpg, which is about 3.9 more than I expected since I was climbing in elevation most of the way.

I'm not set up for solar yet but am primitive camping so my power is limited without running the generator. I've been finding things to occupy my time other than being online.

I even got to fulfill my sweatshirt wish the other night! Life is good!

  2. So glad you are out of the oven and the bugs. I was just about ready to send you a "Where the heck are you?" comment... lol...And, yes there are better things to do than spend our lives online. I totally agree with you on that one. I'm trying to get better at that myself. It seems like you lose hours when you think you've only been surfing minutes. Glad you got to fulfill your sweatshirt wishes! Now, go out and make some memories an photos that you can share with us. I'm still working on it.. SIGH... Dang, when you start this de-cluttering process you tell yourself you'll get it done in a month... Yeah, right... lol... Now, the heat will be coming my way... So, that'll slow me down. I'm going to keep at it here though... I think I'll take her for a few short overnighters just to get away so I can come home and see this place from a new perspective. Life is good, enjoy it!

    1. No oven, no bugs, this is MUCH better. I'm just going to take it easy and enjoy myself and not think about what I have left to do with the rig when I return south in Sept or Oct.

    1. LOL Cousin! It may not be quite as interesting as you may be picturing but I'm having a good time hanging out with fellow bloggers and taking long doggy walks.

    1. Thanks Gaelyn. I haven't planned that far ahead - about three days is all I can manage - but if I decide to head that way I'll definitely let you know. It would be nice to hang at the NR again.

  10. 13.9 mph??? Geez, that's wonderful - I get 8 mph. I drive as little as possible so I can control it somewhat, but sometimes you just have to head down the road and fill up a few times, and that 13.9 will be really nice as you travel. Glad you're enjoying Bliss so much!

    1. Isn't it?! I was really surprised. That was just one leg of the journey but it was while I was trying to keep my speed in the 'sweet spot' for mileage. Looks like that's worth the effort because when I stopped paying attention to it the mileage decreased.

      Bliss is blissful :)
