I amused myself this morning while lying in bed listening to the birds singing. We've all been taught that they say pretty things; for instance, I was taught that cardinal song is purdy purdy purdy cheerio! How lovely is that. You were probably taught something else but I bet it's pretty, too (or purdy, as it was pronounced in my [red]neck of the Indiana woods). While I was lying there half asleep, my brain interpreted one bird call as hey man hey man hey man, spare a dime? which made me picture a bird down on his luck, maybe 1/2 a seed and a spider leg left in his pocket, trying to get home to his brood. Then I pictured the cop bird showing up, move along move along move along.

The sun is ris
Tucker is, too

Anyone leave their husband at a campsite? Anyone?
Is this some kind of joke? |

ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh out loud here at work. Folks may start talking.
I'll never listen to a bird sing the same way again.

And my work here is done. :)
DeleteWow look at your followers grow. Cute little critters you have to keep you entertained!
ReplyDeleteI know, it's so cool! I'm humbled and excited every time that number grows.
DeleteALL right, the head of the fur pack appears! I guess I'm just slow but I clicked on the "husband" picture and made it bigger and still can't tell what it is. But I'd be happy to leave mine there if you like! Sunrise over the water is one of my favorite things in all the world.
ReplyDeleteThat kind of pillow is called a husband, or husband pillow.
DeleteI'm not in need of any husbands but thanks for the offer! :) I even left that husband right at the fire ring.
Love the early morning sunrises, but no water here
ReplyDeleteLove the changes to your look and by the way the name furballs is great. We have quail here that call out.....contessa, contesssa, contesssssa, honest, it's true.
ReplyDeleteThanks Contessa. I had to search for a while to find a picture I could live with.
DeleteI believe you! You have fans everywhere. :)
I didn't know those were called husband pillows. I used to have one. Pillow I mean. Husbands - three. Funny someone would leave their husband there? LOL
ReplyDeleteI thought about getting one (the pillow) to use on my futon in the rig but they're so big, I don't want to give up the space.
DeleteNever ceases to amaze me the things I learn while reading blogs! Husband pillow! HaHa!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the name started out as a joke and then just stuck.
DeleteCongratulations on your new blog, Annie! I'm a bit late with that but I don't get around much. I read all your posts and want to thank you for the name-drop a while ago. Best wishes for your furballs, your blog, and you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue! I was remiss in not putting you on my blog roll earlier. It's fixed now! :) Thanks for stopping in!
DeleteLLOL@ the panhandling bird. They're everywhere.
ReplyDeleteIt's true, they are.
