A morning in the life

I have followers! How cool is that. Thanks for joining me and I sure hope I make it worth your while.

Here's a question for you Blogger experts. I changed the name of the blog but when I receive email notifications it comes with the old name in the subject line. I assume if other people get notifications of replies to their comments that it also has the old name (you do get an email when someone replies to your comment, right?). I've looked through the settings but don't see a way to change what the outgoing email looks like. Anyone have the answer?

Tucker joined us for our walk this morning. He follows Jake around like he's Tucker's older brother. He even waded in the river one day after seeing Jake do it. Too bad I didn't get a picture.

Where'd ya go, bro?

Not too shabby, eh?

Here's the field opposite of the riverside camping sites.

And here's Tucker being cheeky at the last camping spot.

Some people take lots of pictures of birds and plants. Me, I'm more of a pets person. Notice? :)

  1. That's so sweet that Tucker follows Jake like that. Gretchen would eat him. What a beautiful spot you have! Grace (in Tucson)

    1. Crossing Gretchen off Tucker's play date list. :)

It is a lovely spot but I think I'm going to leave it before the next batch of weekenders arrive. On to the next lovely spot!

  2. Yea, Gretchen doesn't like kitties but she loves Jake. At least you get 5 days a week of peace. Sounds heavenly.

    1. It is heavenly, absolutely. I'm very lucky!

Jake would be much more likely to play with Gretchen now. He's much less shy around other dogs now. :)

    1. Thanks Contessa, and just NOW I noticed there's a Notify me box you can check when making a comment. Presumably you'd get the email then.

  4. I LOVE animal photos; most of us RVers do. Don't worry about posting lots of photos of the furballs.

I just changed your blog name in my blogroll gadget. You might see the old name on people's blogrolls until they make that change.

I changed the name of my blog - added the ...and My RV! and I don't remember having a problem, but I don't get e-mails about comments. I did notice yesterday that Feedburner still had the old name, and I changed it. Whatever you set up under the old name needs to be changed. Go back into the Options where you signed up for e-mails and see if there is a place to update the name. :)

There are so many fun little things you can do in Blogger. Check out the Layout where you can add all the gadgets. In the beginning I also Googled Blogger Gadgets on-line to see what else was available, and there's a lot out there. When you have a day that needs a little learning curve!

    1. I don't think I could help myself from posting critter pictures, anyway. They are most of what I do every day. :)

I checked the email settings and there's no place to change the outgoing subject line to the correct name. Maybe Blogger will eventually catch up and it'll correct itself.

I've looked at some of the gadgets but haven't done a Google search for more. I'll try that, thanks.

  5. Good to see you here, Annie! ;-> Aren't New Mexico State Parks the greatest thing since noodle soup?

For quick reference on the in's and out's of each State Park, take a look at

and click on each heading. Lots of good information about each park. Very handy when you are making plans.

    1. Thanks Judie, good to see you here, too! Yes, I agree, the NM parks system is terrific.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

  6. Well shoot, I must not have scrolled down to the bottom to find the follow button. Now I'm not #1. Oh well #10 is almost #1 just with a zero right? Wish I could help with the name change thing. I don't know a thing about blogger, forgot it all when I started using Live Writer. So if I want to change mine, I'll have to ask you. What was the old name before you changed it? Annie, Jake and the rest of them?? Tucker is too cute with Jake. How's Jake feel about it? Kitty in the water now that is a picture you have to get. Your shots of your site are dynomite. What a great location. Is there somewhere that doesn't have the week-end warriors that you know of? Secrets??

    1. You'll just have to settle for #1 cousin. :)

The old name was Annie and the Fur Kids. I like Furballs better.

Jake tries desperately to play with Tucker. Does the charge and play bow stuff but it freaks Tucker out. I've only seen him kind of play a couple of times. Maybe eventually he'll get into it.

There are dispersed Caballo Lake sites that are true boondocking. Even if there are other campers there, they wouldn't be as close by.

  7. Good advice. You need to add some gadgets. It's very nice to have the list of all your posts on the side. I believe there is also something you have to add for people to check to get a notice about comments. It's not hard, just takes a little digging to find what you want to add.

  8. Love pet pics! Keep them coming. Would it be rude if I ask you about your life before full timing? No pressure to share but I would just like a little more back story. Thanks. Kathy

    1. I have a big truck and a little trailer. When my husband was alive we had big motorhomes, the last almost new. I didn't think I'd ever travel, again, so I sold it. Have had some regrets. As much as I love my truck and trailer, I might have been better off trading the MH for a Born Free Class C. 20/20 hindsight and all. :)

  10. If you put your follower gadget up closer to the top you will get more followers....glad to see you blogging again!

  11. I put you in my feedly reader but don't get any emails. :( But then if there's a box to check I usually don't because then I get like a kajillion messages every time someone, including you, comments. No offense, but that's too much. Blogger has change so much since I was on it I don't know a thing.

Other than, I LOVE your site. Nice to see Tucker out almost playing with Jake. And better that Jake wants to play.

BTW, thanks for setting up so many profile options in comments.

    1. I like it that people can opt in/out of getting email notifications. I think how that "Notify me" box works is that it will only send a notification if someone replies directly to a comment you've made, but I could be wrong. I'd hate to get bombarded by every crap thing that comes out of my mouth, too. :)

Glad you like the blog! Jake's shell is cracking a little more each day. One of these days he's going to be all dog.

  12. I like Blogger, as I find it very user friendly. I just needed to get over the fear of clicking on things and discovering what they were. I did put the follow by email button on my blog so my friends and family could just use this and get an email whenever I posted a new entry. It does not notify them if someone makes a comment. Some people don't want to "join" the site, but do like getting the email notification. Hope this is clear and not as clear as mud!

    1. Hi Cathie. Yep, that all makes sense. I've got the follow by email option at the very bottom of the page.

    2. I have emailed you the test results. I have now turned off the notify me box.

  14. I always get notified by email of a response when I post a comment, and click the "notify me" box. I do not get emails about other comments. So my email box is not filled with notifications. Only the ones i pick.
